<trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>The review is devoted to the role of psychological factors in the recovery of patients after spinal surgery (with spinal canal stenosis). The high epidemiological and economic significance of the back pain syndrome was noted. Research results of socio-demographic, clinical and psychological factors in assessing patient satisfaction with the result of the operation and quality of life after the surgery are given. The article presents studies of the effectiveness of psychological assistance methods in the preoperative period and their impact on recovery. The conclusion is made about a certain inconsistency of the existing data, the need for further research and the feasibility of psychological diagnosis before surgery to clarify the prognosis of recovery, identify targets for psychological assistance and conduct a course of psychological preparation to improve the results of surgical intervention.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>стеноз позвоночного канала</kwd><kwd>качество жизни</kwd><kwd>оперативное вмешательство</kwd><kwd>социодемографические факторы</kwd><kwd>клинические факторы</kwd><kwd>психологические факторы</kwd><kwd>реабилитация</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>spinal stenosis</kwd><kwd>quality of life</kwd><kwd>surgery</kwd><kwd>sociodemographic factors</kwd><kwd>clinical factors</kwd><kwd>psychological factors</kwd><kwd>rehabilitation</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><title>References</title><ref id="cit1"><label>1</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="ru">Hoy D, March L, Brooks P, Blyth F, Woolf A, Bain C, et al.
